Well, today is the day that we've been waiting for for five weeks! We drove up to Bethel, MN to bring our little Harley home! The car ride went considerably well. He whined for the first half of it and then slept for the rest and sat in my lap the whole way down. When we got home, he got to meet our neighbors dogs and did well exploring our house. Between playing, training and eating, Harley has fit in about five or so naps! He has already gone to the bathroom outside on command three times, can sit and come when told. He's very smart and a lot of fun!

We did introduce him to Brownie later on in the day and that went ok. He was eagar to chase her and they did a few laps around the bedroom until we called it quits. We'll just have to be persistant in the days to come to continue the introduction!

All moved in..(almost) and about to be puppy parents!

Well, its official, we're homeowners! We closed on our townhome in Savage last Thursday and have most of our stuff moved in! Just waiting to complete the move and start decorating! The closing went well and was quite nerve racking because it felt like we were signing our life away! Its a great feeling though and we're looking forward to making our home cozy and welcoming for our friends and family! Besides getting married, this was probably the second most common talk we would have while Adam was in Iraq. The thought of sharing a home together gave us both that butterfly feeling and we were looking forward to it so much. We are so blessed to have this time come in our lives and we are soaking up every moment of it! The idea of it seemed so far away and it still seems so surreal that our time has finally come to begin our life journey together! Words cannot express how excited we are and can't wait to share our home with others to make many happy memories!
Tomorrow we will have our new addition to the family join us! Harley will be 7 weeks and 4 days old. We will drive up the Bethel, MN to get him around 1pm and we'll have the rest of the day to introduce him to us, his new home and Brownie of course. Will post pictures tomorrow when we get back!

Harley at 6 Weeks!

We went and saw Harley today, so that really made my birthday great! Besides the nice gifts from Adam and him making me breakfast in bed this morning, of course! I cannot believe how fast Harley is growing! He has outgrown his puppy collar and will soon need a replacement! They are so fun to watch, as they have developed quite the personalities! Harley is said to be the leader of the pack, which suits him having been the first born. He organizes everyone for naps and then lays on top of them in the middle! The others are sassy, ring leaders and mischief makers! Today, Harley went between naps, playing with his siblings and just relaxing in our arms calmly. Lets hope his mixture of playfulness and calm nature come home with him. We plan to pick him up Wednesday, April 29th. He'll be just shy of 8 weeks by a few days. The vet that they take them to said that the puppies have progressed incredibly well in their socialization skills so that makes happy. We are so glad to have found the family that has raised them so far. They give the puppies a lot of love and affection, so we know he has been socialized very well! New Blog

Hello everyone! So instead of a blog about the intense and exhausting wait for our Adam to come home from a war zone, I bring you our new blog about our new and busy life we have now started! I promise much more optimism, happy postings and multiple countdowns to the excitment that we have going on in our lives now!
As you may have already heard (I hope by now!), we are getting married on July 24th! We hope you all can make it! Wedding plans are going well, and its just down to the little details for now. I'm sure that will change as the date gets closer!
Next on the list is that we bought a new townhome and will be closing April 23rd! We are so excited to live in our first home together and make it ours! I'm going crazy in box filled, croweded and cluttered apartment...just ask Adam! This is where my anal personality faults my patients!
The first weekend in May, we will be expanding our family with a new addition! Of course, we are starting with a golden retriever puppy first! His name is Harley and he was born March 7th, making him 5 weeks old. He was the first born and the first to try everything, acording to the mother's owners. He's so cute and chubby and we cannot wait to bring him home! I will post pictures soon!
