Harley's 1st Birthday!!

Harley's birthday was March 7th! He turned one year old with his own birthday cake and frosty paws ice cream for dogs! He's grown into such a big boy and is so sweet! He still has a lot of puppy energy, but listens well for the most part and always has to be where we are. He is very loyal and gets along great with his buddies, Brownie and Dwight! He loves the dog park, car rides, playing catch in the back yard and going for walks. If you ask him if he'd like to do any of these things, his ears perk right up!

Grandma's Half Marathon

Another thing Adam and I have devoted our time to is training for a half marathon! That's 13.1 miles of running!!! We got drawn out of the lottery for Grandma's Half Marathon in Duluth on Saturday, June 19th. We officially started our training schedule this week. I am using the Hal Higdon's schedule and Adam is doing the Cross Fit Endurance routine. Two totally different methods of training, but it works for us! Adam is a natural runner, so this will be cake for him, but I am endurance challenged.....we'll see how this goes!

New Addition!

If you did not know already, we have a new addition to our family! I would like to introduce, Dwight! He is now six months old and we adopted him from an adoption agency in Minneapolis. He is the sweetest thing and is a huge cuddle bug! He knows his name, has tons of energy, cuddles a lot with Harley, gets chased a lot by Harley and loves to talk to us! We just got him declawed last week, so he's been a bit more quite the past few days. I'll post some pictures of him so you can see how cute he is :)

Back to Blogging! School Has Taken Over Our Lives!

Sorry, I've been MIA with the blog for a while! We have had little to no free time around here! Adam is in class 2-3 days per week and works in the Veterans Center for work study, as well. He has been doing very well in school and just recently passed his first fire certification test. In the next couple months, he will take his EMT certification test. He also has applied at a few fire departments. We'll cross our fingers!
I work 25 hours a week (looking to work even less in the future) at the dental office and have class 3 nights a week at St. Kate's in Minneapolis and clinicals at a nursing home every other weekend. Two of those weekdays, class goes until 10pm, so that really runs me down! Right now, I am on spring break, hence the free time to post this! Classes have been going great! I got an A in my first class and we now started our next class of the semester. This one will be more intense because it focuses on full assessments of individuals. Our clinicals this semester are at a nursing home, but the remaining semesters will be at a hospital. Really looking forward to that transition!!! Nursing homes are somewhat uncomfortable for me, but it's a good learning experience!
I have to say that Adam has been awesome and great support with my new schedule! He helps a lot with cleaning, cooking and laundry. Not to mention the much needed back rubs due to my permanently knotted up back and shoulders! I will owe him hugely someday when this craziness is over! We are just really looking forward to the Summer...no class....very little working...and a lot of us time and relaxation!
